A “nutrition mission” best describes my purpose to touch as many
people as possible with the message that you can take charge of
your health and your family’s health through learning to make the
best choices every day in the diet and lifestyle.
Research scientists, health care practitioners or the government
are not responsible for our future health outcomes; we are!
So understanding how to take control means becoming educated,
and educating others to make a difference is my passion!
One could say my life has been a journey leading me to this current
place as a nutrition educator with a business named “Everything Fitz”.
Little did I know that my fascination with nature as a child growing up in a small town in Michigan would carry me on a path from teaching high school students about this wonderful world of biology to a career in nursing caring for patients in both hospital and private practice settings. How did that happen?!!
When motherhood arrived, I was privileged to leave the work force and stay home to raise two wonderful children which brings the greatest rewards. As the time approached to return to work, I was at a crossroads of what direction to go. It wasn’t long before the the light bulb went off that the direction had been laid out for me when I was introduced to the concept of whole food nutrition for prevention and wellness.
My experience as a nurse had provided the knowledge and groundwork to recognize the focus of the “sick-care” arena as placing band-aids on symptoms and disease without addressing the underlying cause. I wanted to participate in the “well-care” arena of prevention and true healing! This meant a thorough understanding of the direct connection between diet and disease was foremost, yet this education had not been part of the curriculum in either my biology or nursing degrees. So back to the books I went to earn a certification in nutrition. Thus what seemed to be placed on my heart as a fascination with nature showed its true meaning through creating a business for teaching and supporting others on how to get back to nature and the diet we were designed to eat to stay well!
I invite you to allow me to help you along your journey by learning simple positive steps in your daily choices with continued education to follow the road of wellness so that you may experience a long, happy life enjoying family and friends in good health and vitality.
